Why blocked gutters cause most of the leaks we fix
Canberra's eucalypts and exotics drop a relentless load of leaf litter, and it ends up in your gutters and valleys. Once they silt up, water backs up under the roof edge, overflows behind the fascia, and finds its way into eaves and ceilings โ a surprising share of the 'roof leaks' we're called to are actually blocked gutters. In the older tree-heavy suburbs, gutter guard plus an occasional clear is the cheapest insurance a home can buy. On the bushfire-edge streets it matters even more, since dry gutter litter is ember fuel.
